Why did president thomas jefferson favor assimilation?
he believed the indians would fight each other until they all perished unless they were assimilated.
he believed that through assimilation the indians would sell their land more readily.
he hated the indians for their role in his defeat by the creeks and seminole tribes in earlier battles.
he thought the indians would decide to fight rather than be assimilated, so they would cause their own demise.
