Explain why some people supported president wilson’s graduated income tax and why others opposed it

President Woodrow Wilson proposed changes to the Tax System in the United States.

One of these changes was the Revenue Act of 1916, which increased rates on Income Tax in order to increase Federal Revenue.

People who supported it understood the necessity of the Government in increasing its revenue in order to be able to spend more with the population, social programs and so on.

Those who opposed to it were mainly the ones who had to pay even more than they already had to. People with incomes over five hundred thousand dollars had to pay 16% on Income Tax , rather than the former 6% rate. Also, people who believed that it was more important for people to have money than the government also opposed to it.
