Compare and contrast the waves of immigration before and after the civil war

Before the civil war, the immigrants mostly use to arise from  Western European counties. On the other hand, after the civil war, the immigrants from Europe from Southern and Eastern regions started to arrive in the US.

The old immigrants of the US were from Africa, the Caribbean, and England. These were the wealthy, educated, and skilled people who were usually the merchants from their nations.

The new immigrants who were coming to the US were mostly from Asian countries. These people were unskilled and poor who were from worker grades.

Therefore, this immigration was taking place before and after the civil war for getting more employment and business opportunities in the US.
