 at first i had to narrow down the top two and see if the Boston massacre happened because of the Boston tea party, but the Boston massacre happened before the tea party. 

The colonists destroyed the tea because of the tea act, where there was tax on tea and England cut out the Colonists who take the tea to America so they boycotted the tea and let it expire when the price of tea was high and England took the tea there themselves.
