What was the result of the assault on fort wagner by the african american soldiers of the union’s 54th massachusetts regiment?

The result was a total failure. The Union Regiment of Free African American Men from the 54th Regiment assaulted, in July 18, the Fort Wagner.

This ended up nothing but a massive failure with 20 killed, 125 wounded and 102 missing and presumed dead.

Even though it was a disaster, the men are remembered for their bravery.
