How did charlemagne create a vast empire regarding christianity?

Charlemagne was able to Christianize all of Europe because his armies successfully gained military victories throughout the region. Once Charlemagne conquered a new area, he demanded that all of the conquered people convert to Christianity. The pope eventually proclaimed Charlemagne emperor, and his kingdom of Western and Central Europe became known as the Holy Roman Empire.
