Ancient Sumer self-governed city-states (3300-3100 B.C.): In the late 4th millennium BC, Sumer was divided into several city-states that were independent of each other.The Akkadians (2334 B.C.): Sargon of Akkad won the Battle of Uruk and captured the empire of the last Sumerian king named Lugal-zage-si.King Hammurabi create his code of laws (1754 B.C.): It is one of the oldest deciphered writings. It was enacted by the sixth Babylonian king and consisted of 282 laws with scaled punishments. Nebuchadnezzar ruled the Neo-Babylonian empire (605 B.C.): He was the longest and most powerful monarch of that empire. He´s remembered as the destroyer of the Solomon´s Temple.
