PLEASE HELP THIS IS DUE TODAY!!! In the Roman Republic, a dictator was a "temporary magistrate with extraordinary powers…it was resorted to only in times of military, and later internal, crises. The dictator's term was set at six months, although he customarily laid down his powers as soon as the crisis passed" (Encyclopaedia Britannica). Reflect upon the rise of dictators like Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini. How were they different from the Roman dictator? How were they similar? What is the danger of giving a government unlimited power, even during a crisis?
