The conservation movement helped create several laws and organizations to protect lands. Perhaps one of the most important of those organizations was the National Park Service. Since its creation in 1916, the National Park Service has worked to protect the nation’s parks. Over 275 million people visit these parks annually and enjoy the beauty and wonder of such treasures as Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the Grand Canyon. Over 20,000 people are employed by the National Park service, dedicating their lives to the preservation of the nation’s most beautiful places.
How does the work of the National Park Service represent the ongoing influence of the Progressive Era?
a. Its promotion of park visits encourages Americans to take pride in their country.
b. Its employment of tens of thousands of workers decreases economic inequality.
