Ceasar Chavez was a very famous activist for farmers in Mexico. Up until that point farmers were treated unfairly, given terrible wages, and worked in dangerous conditions. Chavez decided that he wanted to help, so he started a hunger strike. This brought a lot of attention to the problem and helped the movement gain traction. Eventually, his protest earned the farmers better wages and more livable conditions.
