2. Create your design!!
The name of your nominee.
At least three images related to your nominee (For example, if you were creating a stamp for Abraham Lincoln, you might include a picture of broken chains because Lincoln helped end slavery.)
A catchphrase or quote that relates to your nominee (For example, a stamp for Abraham Lincoln might include the nickname “Honest Abe,” or the phrase “four score and seven years ago” from his Gettysburg Address.)

3. Write a letter to the selection committee justifying your nomination. Your letter should include the following:

The name of the individual you think should be featured on the postage stamp.
At least two paragraphs explaining why you nominated the individual.
o Your first paragraph should include at least two specific examples of heroic actions during the Civil War time period.
o Your second paragraph should describe how the images and wording on your stamp represent your nominee.
