Why do you think the Turkish government has devoted resources to preserving Christian artifacts in the Hagia Sophia even though the vast majority of its population practices Islam?

Because the Turks see the Hagia Sophia as an important artifact. Also, a tradition from the Ottoman times states that Islam is the fulfiller of Judaism and Christianity, and they are all Abrahamic and that no division should take place between the three. So, the Turkish government has taken this duty into their hands and are now preserving the Hagia Sophia for the younger generations of the world to see how the Turkish government and holy Muslims want to keep peace between the religions of the world, and not only that, but how the Turkish government preserved these artifacts to show the later generations of the world intact history.

in 1877, the nez perce war took place.

1881 - president james garfield was assassinated.

1882 - the chinese exclusion act was passed.

1883 - a decision in the civil rights cases legalized racial segregation in the united states.

1887 - the dawes act was passed.

1893 - the panic of 1893 took place. (what a creative name)

and there are probably other topics you can find if you just search up "united states timeline," or "conflicts in the 19th century for america."

then once you find a topic you like find out how it affected the people of america and what not. (sorry if this feels a bit short changed, history was and never will be one of my strong topics)
