The Korean and Vietnam Wars are similar in that both were fought against communist influence in both countries. Furthermore, both countries at one point were split into two halves with a communist North and a democratic South (North Korea & South Korea)(North Vietnam & South Vietnam). They are different in that Vietnam was eventually united while Korea remained divided (36th parallel). Moreover, unlike the Korean democratic government, the Vietnamese democratic government was weaker and was corrupt which also served to aid the communist North to victory.
