. What is the 3/5’s compromise? What happened to this provision?

Under the compromise, every enslaved American would be counted as three-fifths of a person for taxation and representation purposes. This agreement gave the Southern states more electoral power than they would have had if the enslaved population had been ignored entirely The 14th ammendmentabolished the compromise.    

Explanabolishetion:

Northern States and Southern states were in opposition as to how to count slaves in determining population of states. Northern states were concerned that if slaves counted as a full person that the south would gain an unfair advantage in representation in congress.
