The above statement is true in the sense that, Affirmative Action is a term used to describe the governmental policies which are purposely set out to ensure that an adequate number of groups are represented in all socio-economic facet of the country. The groups could either be according to gender, race, sexuality, creed, or nationality. These policies are applied in areas such as education, employment, etc.
