What is an absolute monarch, and how did they justify (or defend) their role with the concept of divine right? Why do you think many Europeans went along with the idea of absolutism rather than rebel?

What does the term autocratic mean? Who was considered to be the most autocratic ruler of all of Europe’s monarchs?
At one time in Europe, calling a ruler an autocrat was often considered a compliment. Why do you think this was?
