Analyze what does the mayflower compact explicitly say? what does it suggest through its careful diction, word choice, and use of imagery?

The Mayflower compact basically was a colonial temporary set of laws that was produced by votation (common agreement), due to the necessity to establish an organized and distributed society, in order to avoid rebellions or internal riots.

The word choice was pretty simple and direct (wasn´t too common on former compacts or social texts, were sometimes could be extense and technical in some aspects), so the set of rules was shown in a way all the colonists understood the true meaning of the ¨new land law¨ and this way don´t have any kind of issue related to not respecting it.

It was placed the cristian religion as a must, since one of the main reasons of the discovery of new lands was keep the beleives and practices at the most puritan and strict way possible, in the compact we can clearly see the instructions about it , literally was instructing about the paths to follow and obey.

So the words and language used in the text, were a response of subordination under King´s James and God domain, also a strong and a direct message of the compact is to convince the people to follow the instructions, in order to guarantee the new community success.
