Immediately after the war, how did the allied powers deal with germany? what kind of government was established? what policies were put in place to prevent future german aggression

Germany was severly punished. It could no longer have a large army, just enough to defend itself. It also couldn't have an airforce or navy. Though, as we know, Germany broke all the rules put on it.
