After the crash, the Treaty of Versailles declared that Germany owed money, due to the damage they had caused. Of course, Germans did not like losing their glory, and as a result, turned to a dictator (Adolf Hitler) to restore their power and pride. Nationalism was a big factor here. Hitler's group, the Nazi's, blamed the Jews for being the root of the cause, and this lead to the fleeing and genocide of many Jews.
