It started in the North of Italy at the end of the 15th century with the creation of the Duomo of the cathedral of Florence, Santa Maria del Fiore, by Filippo Brunelleschi who was inspired by the Ancient Roman Duomo of the Pantheon of Agrippa, in Rome. This inspiration and interest in classical elements were not confined to architecture only, there was a revival of the study of classical Roman and Greek philosophy, arts, literature, mathematics, and science as well.
