I believe it is false that the paintings of Jean-Honoré Fragonard deal with serious religious subjects.
His paintings have been created as part of the rococo style, which valued ordinary people and their lives. Fragonard wanted to portray such events in his paintings as well, which is why his characters can often be seen enjoying themselves in nature.
