Benedict of Nursia is a Christian saint that is well respected and highly referenced in the Catholic Church, Anglican Communion, the oriental orthodox churches and the eastern orthodox churches.

Benedict was a son to the roman noble of Persia. He was born on 480 CE and died Nursia Italy in C 547. He was regarded as the father of Western monasticism because the rule he created became the norm for a monastic lifestyle throughout Europe.
