This is Mrs. Higgins' day at home and she is very unhappy about the abrupt arrival of Henry Higgins, because from experience, she knows that he is too excentre to be presented to the kind of respectable business she expects. He reveals to her that he wants to introduce the topic of the experiment to her home for a few months, and he explains the bet he made on Pickering.
