PROMISES
Firstly, he used the people's hatred against the Treaty of Versailles to his advantage which would gain him a lot of support. He even told the public that he would get rid of the Treaty of Versailles and stop following the Entente's orders to pay reparation etc by taking back lost territories and rearming. This further helped him gain power by destroying the support of the Weimar Republic as this made the Weimar Republic look like the enemy (November Criminals). He even said that he would fix the economy and make unemployment virtually nonexistent (he did improve the unemployment problem but lied to the people that unemployment was virtually nonexistent. He even said that he will deal with the communist which appealed to MANY people. He appealed to:
The Aristocrats - these people hated Communism and wanted to rearm.
Middle Class - wanted law and order. They also feared the communists.
Working Class - They wanted jobs mainly and Hitler promised to end the problem of unemployment.
Church - They supported Hitler as Communism strictly believes in atheism which the church did not like very much.
INTIMIDATION AND PROPAGANDA
Hitler did as much as he can in this part like Radios, Newspapers etc to gain more support from the public. Joseph Goebbels was the one in charge of this whole propaganda operation. For example, his book, 'Mein Kampf', showed the struggles he has been through (written while was in prison due to Munich Putsch). Hitler also used the SA to intimidate rivalling parties by disrupting their meetings and doing whatever they can to help Hitler rise. They soon became too powerful and the leaders of the SA were assassinated. The SS kept Hitler safe during his speeches or party meetings and were exclusively loyal to Hitler no matter the cost.
WEIMAR WEAKNESSES
The Weimar made lots of mistakes in their lifetime. They faced multiple rebellions like the Kapp Putsch or the Communist revolution (which both failed). They were also hated by the people as they signed the Treaty of Versailles branding them the 'November Criminals'. They were also responsible for German hyperinflation which had gotten out of hand to the point where a wheelbarrow full of money was needed for a single loaf of bread. These events meant that people all believed that extremist parties were the way to go and the extremist parties were on the rise like the Nazi Party.
