What were the hidden dangers in the cultural and economic life that Americans pursued in the 1920s? What signs were there that this prosperity and its accompanying lifestyle were built on shaky foundations? Why were so many of these dangers and warning signs ignored at the time?

One of the first problems arose with prohibition which led to a devaluation of alcohol. As well as other laws led to continuous devaluations. With the policy of protectionism, the United States ended up falling into a crisis of overproduction. So there were inflations, the smuggling that became more and more important in the trade. America initially had to abandon investment in European industries. The American man of the '20s lived a day, regardless of tomorrow. The great crisis will bring this population back down to earth.
