Mohandas Gandhi led the Indian National Congress, practice nonviolent, passive resistance to British rule, and organized the Salt March during World War II. His nonviolent actions were inspirational in other non-aggressive movements around the world. Each generation has someone that is an inspiration and someone that they can look up to.
