Arising after an assassination attempt on Vladimir Lenin, the Red Terror was modeled on the Reign of Terror of the French Revolution, and sought to eliminate opposition, political dissent, and any other threat to Bolshevik power while the complete opposite of Marx's view of a communist revolution.
