Lincoln wants to see this his country as undivided and free from slavery. “I believe this government cannot endure permanently half slave and half- free”. He saying that the only way to ‘endure and survive is that everyone has to be free and there are no opposing sides. When the 13thAmendment of the Constitution was ratified and slavery was abolished. Now, America has survived.
