Bolivar led the first rebellion in South America by pushing for Venezuelan
independence, while de Miranda liberated Venezuela and several other Latin
American countries.
De Miranda attempted to liberate Venezuela, but it failed, and he fled to
England, while Bolivar successfully liberated Panama, Venezuela, Colombia,
Ecuador and Bolivia.
Both de Miranda and Bolivar were influenced by Enlightenment ideas and the
American and French revolutions, but they were unable to secure
independence for their colonies.
Neither de Miranda nor Bolivar were involved with rebellions or
