The Mayan Civilization lasted from 250-900 AD. Strongly influenced by the Olmecs, the Mayans created an expansive civilization that covered a large area of land. Ranging from Southern Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula, Mayan cities reached all the way down into Southern Guatemala and even Belize. They created an impressive number of cities which traded and communicated with each other. Some of the best known cities included Chichen Itza, Palenque, Tikal, and Copan. Summary
