The main idea was to restore a sense of security as people went back to work. it made framework for a regulatory state that could protect interests of all Americans; rich and poor. The New Deal helps us now because people can rely more on the federal government during times of economic distress. For example many people have lost their jobs because of corona but thankfully with the new deal many people are getting stimulus checks to help them out.
