How caused the fall of the western Roman Empire and therefore the beginning of Middle Ages?
1: Alexander the Great's conquest of more territory for Greece and eventually his death is what started the Middle Ages. When he died there was no real successor and Greece began to fall. At the same time the Roman Empire was growing through conquest. The Rise of Rome is also known as the Middle Ages because it is that time between the colapse of Greece Empire and colapse of the Roman Empire.
2: Bronze was discovered by mixing copper and tin together. People realized it was harder than their other metals. More and more people started using it for weapons and tools. With this information spreading world wide it created a time of history between the Paleolithic and Neolithic eras known as the Middle Ages.
3: Jesus Christ was born causing Christians to create a new calandar showing that Jesus' birth was the big event in the middle of history. This is why every thing before Jesus' birth is referred to as "B. C." and everything after his birth is referred to as "A. D."Jesus' life and teachings was the Middle Ages.
4: The Roman Empire was split into two empires by Diocletian. While the Eastern Roman Empire thrived and eventually became the Byzantine Empire, the Western Roman Empire was plagued with internal and external causes for its collapse. It was weakened by civil war between generals fighting for power. Peoples from the North came and attacked Rome. The invaders set up small kingdoms throughout the Western Roman Empire which no longer belonged to Rome.
