the conflict in the story haveing to face his fears and go into the wood to collect wood fire but he was scared of ''silas sratch''monster it got resolved by him going into the shed and finding out there was no monster only to find his dad keeping the bathroom space for himself so he made up the silas sratch lie to keep up with the bathroom

(there was a bathroom problem back when he wen`t there,there was only one out house evrybody used)
