John Calhoun was for slavery and believed in state rights. So the slave states who allowed it and promoted it... John said it was their right and thought that having slaves was good. He wanted expansion of the states, and having slaves would make that happen.

He would be for the fugitive slave act.  :(

if a bill passes in the house of representatives, it goes through a similar process in the senate. before a bill becomes law, it must be approved by both chambers of the legislature. the bill must pass with the same wording in the house of representatives and the senate before it can go to the governor for approval.
