Spanish colonial society began after Columbus discovered America. Spanish built colonies in the New World to get access to resources, minerals (gold and silver) and land. Spanish colonial society consists of people from Spain and Native Americans. Spanish culture was introduced which later mix with indigenous people. People in the Spanish colonies were divided into four social classes including  Indians, peninsulares, creoles, and mestizos.
