As a news reporter, you have been asked to write a news feature about Jerusalem. Your assignment is to explain the importance of the city of Jerusalem. Your feature should: Describe the area known as Canaan, and locate the city of Jerusalem within that area.

Include information about how Jerusalem became the capital of the kingdom.

Explain Hebrew beliefs about Solomon's temple, and the importance of Jerusalem to the Hebrew people.

Describe the interaction between the Hebrews and nearby groups (including the Philistines, Assyrians, and Babylonians) in the region in ancient times.

Canaan is also known as the promised land, so you could talk about why it is called that.

Mostly Christanity.

You could also include the past civilizations and what they did.
