At first, not many people in the colony wanted to be involved in the revolutionary war. The British empire had the reputation as one of the strongest empire in Europe and not many people in the colony felt that they gained anything from rising up against British government.

In order to gather colonists' support, Thomas Paine published pamphlets that's called the common sense.

it contained a through explanation on how the British empire has exploited the colonists and it will be massively beneficial for the colonies  to actually join the revolutionary war and break free from British' influence.

After several publications, The people's start to shift their support to the revolutionaries' favors.
