Writing Prompt HELP WILL GIVE BRAINLIST
The federal government is responsible for making and enforcing laws across the nation. Laws
made by the federal government apply to all states. In the antebellum era the Northern and
Southern States were very different. They had different economies, interests, and ways of life.
Write a 5-7 sentence paragraph explaining why it was difficult for the federal government to
make laws to satisfy both regions (North and South). In your response, specifically explain how
state's rights and slavery caused a split within the United States. (Use the information on p.68
