Why does Korea share a common history with China and Japan

Korea Shares an common history with China and Japan since Korea was colonized for a really long time period by japan and China, mostly japan, for what I think on what happened on that Japanese colonized it means that it shares some of its culture with the people who lived in Korea in those days as well as China.
