According to some historians, the second wave of European conquest started in 1750 and went up to the beginning of the 1900s. The region targeted by the European superpowers were Asia, the Islands of the Pacific, and Africa. And it was not only the European nations. One big factor that decided the split of Africa was the Berlin Conference in 1885. The result was commonly known as "The Scramble for Africa."
