No, the main reason for which british came in india was use the indian economy for the use of it's own benefit . The movement of the British into Indian lands caused a mix of European culture and language. the british made their unwanted interesting in indian subject like social , tradition , economics and indian talents of craftsmen and weavers and different artist .
