Which financial institution would be right for you? Write a summary of which financial institution is right for you either a community bank, a credit union, a national bank, and a payday lender.
To decide on this you have to research what consumer groups, individuals and other organizations say about each type of financial institution. In your research, do not use websites or materials provided by the institution. Only research opinions that are from independent sources. Why? What financial is going to say bad things about itself?
Try to find sources that are truly independent — and truly unbiased. Virtually all financial institutions say they are the best, and virtually all of these institutions provide only the good information about their products and services. Avoid reviews that make any money from financial institutions they are reviewing. Look for reviews and articles from independent media and independent consumer groups. Now search each of the following topics using the Internet. "Banks vs. credit unions" "Community banks vs. large banks" "Credit unions vs. banks" "Benefits of payday lenders" "Problems with payday lenders" Select two articles or reviews for each topic and briefly summarize the articles, trying to include both positive and negative points about each type of institution. Don't forget to include the links to your resources. When you've done your research, you're ready to write your short essays about your choice.
What influenced your final choice? Make sure you include: What services are important to you? How do these services tie into your personal financial goals?
