Article 6 in the Declaration of the Rights of Man represents the laws for the legislative body  elected by the people. It gives them right to make decisions in the welfare of society and they will be punished only when their action will be find harmful for society as per the law. These laws are equal for everyone and not one will get privilege of being a legislature body. Every one will work under the guidelines of laws and no one exercise authority that is not directly govern from the nation.

It is important because it gives equal opportunity to access to public office positions and get employed on the basis of merit (for all active citizens).
