However, he also believed in the strict racial ideology that African-Americans were inferior to White-Americans.

Franklin D. Roosevelt's stance: Decades after his cousin had been in office, Franklin issued Executive Order 8802 which promoted the rights of African-Americans. However, he also issued Executive Order 9066 which led to the internment camps which held hundreds of thousands of Japanese-American citizens on the west coast.
