What prompted the british tea party

the “Boston Tea Party,” was a  protest to the  British Parliament’s Tea Act, a bill designed to save a  British Company by greatly deacreasing its tea tax and granting it an almost  complete  monopoly on the American tea trade. , and many people viewed this as another example of taxation without representtation .
