The North as well as the South were split by the argument over slavery concerns between the states and the federal government. The problem of slavery that led to the American Civil was the 1850 Agreement and the Kansas-Nebraska Act.

Slavery is introduced into colonies for the first time since it is necessary for the economy. After the United States gained independence, enslavement in the North began to fade away. The South, which relied heavily on agriculture, accepted slavery as lawful and used it to build wealth.
