During the beginning of the 1800s, California belonged to the Spanish Empire, later went into the hands of Mexico until 1848 when California was won by America. America dominance over California by keeping the interest of North America to expand its influence in the West.The Southwest became part of the United States in 1848 after the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The United States decided to take California as a territory that belonged to Mexico.Europeans especially, Anglo Americans, after arriving in California started to transform the landscape.

Therefore we can conclude that the information given support American dominance over annexation of California.

This is correct because the United States saw a good opportunity to settle that territory that belonged to México at that time.

The problem was that the Russians owned a big portion of territory from Alaska to Fort Ross, located approximately 90 miles north of the port of San Francisco.

That port had been established in 1812 by the Russian-America Company. The government of Mexico was afraid of the Russians to invade the Mexican territory of California although the Russians left in 1841.

That is why the government of México invited the American people, to settle in because it wanted a kind of buffer to eliminate the possibility of the Russians settling in California.

with the political divide on multiple issues we are headed that way but one of the biggest issues that has texas involved is that democrats believe that only and form of officer or military member can posses a firearm and if they ever end up repealing the right to bear arms i am sure that most people in the lower southern states would choose to seceed in order to keep thier firearms and even fight for them. this is my opinion it does in no way, shape, form, or fashion represent everyone in the lower southern states nor am i implying thst only the southern states want to keep there firearms.
