Yes I do think that Mexico was foolish to keep trying to control Texas after Texas delared its' independence.  Texas forced Mexico's leader to sign a treaty for Texas to become independent, but Mexico kept trying to control Texas, even after. Texas defeated the Mexican Army and won its independence and Mexico tried to keep Texas under their control when Texas originally left because of Santa Anna's laws. But in 1845, Texas joined the United States and Mexico wasn't able to try and control Texas due to them being under the U.S. laws and governement.

there are basically 3 goals of the government: 1) maintain order by protecting life and property. 2) providing public goods, those which are typically not provided by the public sector, such as roads and education. 3) promote equality be it political, opportunist or outcome equality.
