Natural rights was an amazing thing for the Enlightenment because it made so many people realize that they didn't need an absolute ruler.  Social contract was amazing for Enlightenment people because they wanted protection in some ways so they gave up something else.  Popular sovereignty was amazing for the Enlightenment people of the U.S. because it allowed people to vote for themselves.  Hope this helps :)
