Your portfolio for Unit 2 is a timeline of Georgia history from the year that a Spanish conquistador arrived to the year that the last royal governor arrived from England. Your job is to choose FIVE significant dates from that era (1540 - 1760) and explain why they were important for Georgia. Each event should include a map showing where the event took place, an illustration (image, drawing, etc) of the event, and a paragraph explaining the event’s significance in Georgia’s development. Your paragraph should be written in 3-5 complete sentences and answer the 5Ws (who, what, where, why and when). Your paragraph should show that you considered the cause and effect of each event and the motivations of people involved. You will need to cite your sources for this Portfolio (include where you found the information).

You may choose the format you want to use: Google Tour Builder, ArcGIS Story Map, Powerpoint, Slides, Word...as long as you can turn it into the dropbox, it’s fine!

A few tips/reminders:

Your events MUST take place in Georgia (or affect Georgians!) between 1540 and 1760.

Even though you are citing your sources, ALL work should be in your own words.

Images/illustrations must be relevant to the event you are using them for

Your events MUST be presented in chronological order--remember, this is a timeline!

If you choose to use Google Slides/Google Docs to complete your Portfolio, please save it as a PDF to submit it to the dropbox.

If you choose to use Google Tour Builder, make sure to follow the directions (steps 12-14 on the Google Tour Builder Written Instructions below) to properly turn in your Tour.
